The safe strategy for this phase: Roll into the right corner (the left corner has stairs that mess up your movement), crouch, and deflect the first few orbs with slices while holding down and right so that you aren’t moving around enough for the orbs to miss your slices.

If you’re doing a full game Psych% run, I suggest the safer strategy unless you feel lucky. Normal Mode: You have two possible strategies. Tip: Press the restart button as soon as the psychiatrist becomes invisible at the end of the Hands Phase to save some time. It will move on to the orb phase, saving four-five full seconds. If you did it right, you'll have hit all four hands.įor the sixth set, do the same strategy as normal-and then, if you did all the previous strategies right, there will be no seventh set. As the fourth set of hands retreats, jump up toward the floating psych, slash twice toward him, then as the portals for the fifth set open rapidly drop back down to the ground and then slash both the upper left and leftmost hands, followed by a quick roll to the right to slash the rightmost and upper right hands. However, for the fifth set (this strategy isn't shown in the video, will get a video of it soon) you must perform the hardest trick in probably the entire game, certainly in this boss. In the third set, hit all four as shown (has a 50/50 chance of the rightmost hand being slow and therefore hittable)įor the fourth set, do it like the normal safe strat, hitting all three hands. It is not suggested to attempt this strategy on a fullgame run unless you have either a large timesave already or you're going for extreme optimization. This strategy is very, very, very difficult. You need to memorize each pattern and, if you want to be fast, learn to hit almost every single hand. When one hand comes from each side, you can either make a guess on which will come out first and go over to that portal, slice the hand, then roll to the other portal and slice that one, or if you think they will come simultaneously stand in the middle and either slice one then the other or, if you want to be faster but riskier, slice upwards as they are very close to you to hit both in one swing. It’s a bit more risky but a lot faster to run up to the portals the hands come out of and slice into the bottom portal as its hand appears and then, depending on whether the second hand appeared at the same time or after, either jump and slice upward or roll back toward the middle to hit the hand. Normal Mode: You’re going to want to memorize the patterns of the hands: First two from the left, then one from each side, then two from the left, then one from each side, then two from the right, then one from each side (and you shouldn’t need to memorize past that unless you really messed up).įor the hands that are both coming from the same direction, the safest strategy is to stand in the middle and wait for them-the hands will randomly be either simultaneously attacking or one after the other. Tip: Hands cannot be hit as they retract or move back to their portals. If you were pretty fast, the Psych’s hair should turn white at around 33 seconds in. From there, it’s standard: just spam the confirm/interact key as fast as you can to get through all the dialogue. You want to get to the dialogue trigger in the office as soon as possible.
